Long Weekend Menu — Food & Drink Pairs

Waking up on a Friday and knowing a long weekend is ahead is quite possibly the best feeling in the world. At the moment, it’s hard to know what day it is anyway. But there’s still something about the freedom of walking into glorious a Saturday, Sunday, Monday combination of time off.

I personally think all weekends should always consist of three days. The first day to decompress from work, the second day you don’t have to think about the work you did yesterday or the work you have to do tomorrow and then the third day you prepare yourself to go back to work.

Then, we’re all going back energized and refreshed, ready to kill it for the next four days. But alas, we’re still sticking to the five day work week for now, so when we get these occasional breaks, it feels like an actual gift.

On this particular Monday off, I’m really only thinking about one thing — well two actually. What to eat? What to drink? I gathered some suggestions that drew my eye and some pairing options. Spoiler alert — carbs are the main attraction.
